Mostly moved in...
We've got most of the stuff moved in to the new place. I haven't ever lived this far out in the country before. Last night I had the window open and there was some kind of weird shrieky noise coming from outside. What the heck? I couldn't decide if it was an owl or a mountain lion prowling around our yard. I'm convincing myself it was an owl. At least I didn't hear any coyotes. I know they're out there and they scare me. And, yes, Sister, I know they won't attack a grownup but that doesn't make me any less scared. That's why the call it a phobia. Its an irrational fear. My brain is convinced that coyotes are invested with evil indian spirits that make them stronger than regular dogs or that they're really inhabited by aliens wishing to spy on my house. Apparently, I read way too many horror novels...

Hehe I hear you about coyotes, they are just plain creepy. We had a few hanging around my Dad's barn, thankfully he has moved on to a new place and we don't have to worry about them being so close anymore.
What you said on my blog in the comments about running being primal hit the nail right on the head! Your description was perfect and totally encompassed how I feel when I get "in the zone" of running.
Congrats on the new place. :)
Too bad you are scared of coyotes... the land surrounding our farm is packed with them... they sometimes come right behind our homes and howl right out the windows... Bone chilling! We've had hunters to try and get their population down and I think it worked... but I still saw one about 4 days ago cross the road right in front of my car. We also have wolves around, but they are more illusive... things like that make bears sound like cake! LOL
I got used to the coyotes, they don't bother me much and the few times I saw one while riding mboth horses and coyote were like, "meh."
The mountain lions though... they scare me.... they shot one like literally just behind my house last year... we are like a mile from some foothills on state land. The thing was hurt, but it wasn't a high-pitched yowl, but more like a throaty deep yowl of pain and rage. I was not pleased... we ahve yet to get a gun though. But for some reason I'm thinking they are not high pitched sounding?
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was just an owl. I'm glad to say I have no idea what a mountain lion sounds like. I know they are sometimes found in our area but usually closer to the lake on the other side of town, I think.
